The DPPCA, as a not-for-profit organization, rely heavily on strong leadership and commitment in order to achieve our missions. The programs are maintained and run by the dedication and hard work of each of our volunteer members. Volunteering is a wonderful way to contribute to our community and develop strong ties and sense of purpose. Among other things, volunteers help to improve the quality of life for others. They also gain valuable experience and develop new skills.

*Receive free coupons to attend any of the recreational programs offered by the DPPCA.
*Receive reimbursement for child care and other expenses associated with their position.

Volunteer Spirit Award
The DPPCA would like to congratulate the recipients’ of this year’s Volunteer Spirit Award. The DPPCA recognizes 2 graduating high school students from our area who are continuing their education full time at a Community College or University. These students have demonstrated an outstanding record in volunteerism during their high school years. Congratulations Francesca Santos from St. Mary’s High School and Natasha Bolender from Huron Heights High School!

Mavis Ternent went to rest on December 25, 2013. Mavis was a community builder, advocate and long time volunteer. She made many contributions to the Upper and Lower Doon, Pioneer Park, Doon South and Brigadoon communities. Read more about her story on Page 5 of the DPPCA 2014 Spring Newsletter.
